NB: When I wrote this, I, like ν, assumed a constant rate of reaction, which is not the case. As napping rationales go, though, this is a fairly good one.
wait… why does the rate of reaction matter?
If the reaction speeds up as it occurs (maybe the sun gets denser, fr’ex), then it produces more heat; the sun is actually getting hotter, not cooler.
Woops.
