The Numbers All Point to Media Hype
Posted by andrew wolf under Uncategorized
So I was investigating the latest poll numbers for the up coming contests and found three interesting things. One, there are no polls out there about Guam’s upcoming primary. Two, the American Samoans voted for Hillary. Three, most of the earth shattering momentum building victories for both Obama and Hillary were actually ties in terms of delegate count.
Clearly the latter point being the most interesting. Turns out the media is hyping the crap out of essentially non-victories. Looking at Obama’s break out win in Iowa he only beat Clinton with 16 delegates to her 15. In New Hampshire the state that “saved” Hillary, both candidates actually walked away with the same number of delegates, each with 9. Oh, and that surprise victory for Hillary in Texas which yet again “saved” her campaign…they both walked away with 92 delegates each. In fact when you look at her aggregate victory on Tuesday night she only picked up 4 delegates. The only logical conclusion is that this campaign has been too long and the media has run out of things to say, so they have been reduced to create stories where there are none. Also, of note this focus on PA is unfounded, sorry PA residents. NC has almost as many delegates up for grabs (115 to PA’s 158) and there are other good size states such as Indiana with 72, Oregon with 52, and Kentucky with 51 who still have yet to vote. Though only NC is an open primary where independents, an Obama strong hold, can vote. So don’t believe that only PA matters….happy voting America.
