Dave Price Returns to Alma Mater, Brings Something Called “Early Show” with Him

Dave Price ‘87, weatherman/one of People’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelors in 2001.This morning, weatherman and feature reporter Dave Price (ILR ‘87) of the CBS Early Show returned to his lovely alma mater (far above Cayuga’s waters) and — in addition to reporting the national weather with trademark panache — ran an exhilarating feature on how things have changed in the 20 years he’s been gone. Apparently, school’s more expensive and more selective. College is the new high school. Who knew?

About 50 to 100 students in various shades of carnelian gathered to exhibit various degrees of school spirit. Kids arrived as early as 6am (ugh) to vie for plum “HEY MOM!!!” spots in the front, but Dave was intent on shuffling everyone around so that everyone got their 15 milliseconds. The network checked in from New York about every 20 minutes starting at around 8:10am, but Dave didn’t really interview anyone on the spot; which made standing around outside super boring. The “omg college life changes” segment must’ve been prerecorded over the weekend, which leads me to wonder: did Mr. Price, one of People’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelors in 2001, hit the bars of Collegetown at any point? Cbsnews.com tells me he’s still “single.” And “lives in New York”! Anyway, this was boring. Go watch Dave get unexpectedly soaked by a wave while he’s doing some hard-hitting hurricane coverage!
